The Youth Cancer Services national team is responsible for implementing the strategic directions included in the National Strategic Plan 2013-17, through managing and funding five state based Youth Cancer Services, providing professional development opportunities and developing a strong national network. National initiatives also include progressing youth cancer research, undertaking a dataset project, engaging key external stakeholders, developing consumer and health professional resources and establishing sustainable processes.

Strategic Advisory Group
The Strategic Advisory Group provides strategic advice and guidance to CanTeen on the implementation, opportunities and risks to effectively deliver the Youth Cancer Service Phase 2 national strategic plan and in meeting its key performance indicators.
Research Advisory Group
The Research Advisory Group provides strategic advice and leadership to CanTeen to guide the direction and priorities for Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) cancer research from 2013-17. The focus of the research will be broad, encompassing clinical trials, psychosocial aspects and models of care.
Dataset Advisory Group
The Dataset Advisory Group provides strategic advice to CanTeen to guide the direction and priorities for collecting, linking, analysing and publishing national Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) cancer data.
Youth Advisory Group
The National Youth Advisory Group aims to influence the future of care, support and treatment for Adolescent and Young Adults (AYA’s) with cancer both throughout the Youth Cancer Service (YCS) and other treatment centres.
